About Terri Tipton Holder
Assistant District Attorney Terri Tipton Holder has an extraordinary record of leadership and experience that is evidenced in every aspect of her life. From the days of working to put herself through law school, through 29 years of building a strong marriage, raising 3 successful children and 28 years of practicing law in civil, criminal and appellate courts in Brazoria County, Terri Holder’s life has been one of service, commitment and results.
With 16 years as a prosecutor, Terri Tipton Holder is widely respected in Texas courtrooms as a competent and honest attorney with excellent temperament.
Terri is driven by the court’s ability to apply the law and find justice for those who have suffered unduly. In reflecting on her work, Terri says, “My greatest satisfaction comes from gathering and sorting evidence to find the truth. I believe that if you work long enough and hard enough, you will find the truth.” Her extensive experience and commitment to finding the truth will serve her well as Judge of the 149th District Court, whose docket includes a number of felony prosecutions and high stakes civil suits.
Never losing site of her commitment to the people of Brazoria County, Terri has served on numerous boards and commissions throughout our community. Her efforts in spearheading the implementation of the For Kids Sake Program in Brazoria County in 1998 have aided countless families in our community. “I saw so many well-meaning parents overlook the needs of their children when battling through an emotional divorce”, Terri says. The For Kids' Sake program encourages parents to set aside their own differences to help their children cope with divorce. Since its inception, class participants have continued to show appreciation for helping them to see beyond the raw emotions of divorce and put their kids first.
On a personal note, Terri Tipton Holder has been married to Marc Holder for 29 years and is the mother of 3 wonderful Aggies. She is a 28 year member of the 2nd Baptist Church, Angleton and a proud member of the NRA. On the weekends, you may find Terri singing in the children’s church, “whooping” it up at Kyle Field with the Aggies, or taking target practice at the local range. Terri also finds plenty of time for her 2 beautiful new twin grandbaby boys.

On serving Brazoria County, Terri shares her thoughts:
“The people of Brazoria County are my friends and my neighbors. The people I would be accountable to are those I’ve raised my children with. Those that my family and I have shared life with over the years. I know that the people of this county are an honest, strong, hard-working group who expect and deserve a judge with the same qualities. We could have picked any place in Texas to settle, practice law and raise our family. We came to Brazoria County because of the people!”
“The practice of law is about serving people. To have been able to do that for 28 years has been a blessing.”
